Basic Elements

The basic elements of the Unibox Modular System consist of profiles, connectors and accessories. Unibox Modular System components permits simple assembly of complex structures for a vast range of applications, including exhibition stands, retail displays and interior solutions, amongst many others.

Unibox system features

Unibox extruded aluminium profiles are designed with ‘C’ channels, hollow sections, and bosses which can be used with connecting elements and can also perform a wide range of additional functions. All profiles are supplied in a decorative satin silver anodised finish. Coloured, textured, and other finishes can be supplied to order. Typically, profiles are designed to be uprights or cross members but many can be used as either to suit the desired application.

Captive Channel with 2.5mm leg

Our captive channel defines what makes our Unibox system unique.
Its simplicity allows us to fix into, hook into, hang from, connect and more.

Square Hollow

Our square hollow is perfect for our connecting hardware to join multiple profiles together. We can slide in inserts or connectors for profile to profile joins or perpendicular joins depending on the application.

Centre Boss

Our centre boss is primarily used as a mounting method for an M8 threaded insert.
This allows for a universal fixing point for items such as adjustable feet.

Rectangular Hollow

Our rectangular hollow is seen across our larger,
wider profiles.
We can utilise this channel for connections and joins that require a more substantial fixing.

Captive Channel with 1.5mm leg

A variant of our captive channel, this has a thinner 1.5mm leg as apposed to our standard 2.5mm leg which is to be used with our linear pull lock connector and only used across our cabinet profile.

Connects into captive channel

This feature is generally used amongst our cabinet and
showcase profiles by utilising the captive channel
for building sliding door frames into a Unibox system frame-work.

Screw Boss

Screw bosses are provided as a way to fix into the end of the profile using an M4 fixing. Generally this is in the form of an end cap to neatly cover the exposed end of the profile.

Screw Port

Screw ports are used as a fixing point in the length of a profile to fix something down into. eg an LED printed circuit board

Tension fabric channel

Tension fabric channels are a lip which appears toward the edge of a profile in order to accept a tension fabric which uses a bead of silicone rubber that friction fits into the channel to remain secure.

TFS connector channel

TFS connector channel is a large channel that's used to slide extension plates or corner plates to create frame structures

Connectors

A wide variety of Unibox connectors are available. These are designed to allow perpendicular, angled, end-to-end and parallel joining of profiles. Please refer to the connectors chart in this section of the catalogue for specific suitability.

Linear Pull Profile Lock

Connects beam profiles into opposing post profiles with 90º butt joint. Can be fixed in either plane.

UA4253-H UA4253-V

Bi-directional fitting. Detent prevents pins from popping out of the body. Profiles being joined can be twisted into place or slid along the channel.

Expanding Profile Lock

Connects beam profiles into opposing post profiles with 90º butt joint. UK patent no. GB2431447

UA5532

Spring loaded clip mechanism permits profiles to be clipped into place before tightening. Particularly suitable for connecting curved beams or double-lock profiles

Expanding 45º Profile Lock

Connects beam profiles into opposing post profiles with 45º butt joint. UK patent no. GB2431447

UA6208

Spring loaded clip mechanism permits profiles to be clipped into place before tightening.

Flat 90º Connector

Connects profiles together with 45º mitre joint. It can be used in conjunction with UA4399.

UA4398

Simple, strong and discreet. Secures profile joints by means of grub screws.

Folded 90º Connector

Connects profiles together with 45° mitre joint or 90° butt joint when extra strength is required. It can be used in conjunction with UA4398.

UA4399

Simple, strong and discreet. Secures profile joints by means of grub screws.

Wedge Connector

Slides into profile channel to join two profiles together side by side. Can be used at the ends of profile; the removal of the nylon washer also allows connection in the middle of the profile.

UA4181-B

A subtle way to join two profiles together, to create bespoke channel arrangements.

Spring Loaded Roll Nut M8

Can be “rolled” into profile channel to provide a threaded hole fixing point. A sprung loaded ball bearing prevents the nut from slipping out of position. Will accept any M8 Unibox accessories or can be used to secure items of your choice by M8 screw. Also available in M6 size.

UA6072

A convenient method of fixing accessories to profiles. Can be retrofitted to profiles and has an accurate positioning feature.

Extension Bar

Slides into profile channel to join two profiles together end to end.

UA3832

Subtle and strong way to join two profiles together, either to make an assembly easier to transport, or to extend the length of a profile.

Self-Tapping insert M8

Provides a strong M8 threaded fixing point at a profile end face, screwing into an extruded boss.

UA3833

Allows feet and end caps to be screwed to the profile with concealed fixings.

Showcase Corner Knuckle

Joins three corner post profiles together to form a corner. Available in “round” and “square” styles at 90° & 135° angles.

UA2645c

Creates a flush corner joint for showcase assemblies.

Angle Connector Channel

Angle connector channel is a smaller variant of the TFS connector channel designed for our smaller, slimmer profiles. These accept our smaller corner brackets to create framing systems.

Gasket Channel

Our gasket channel provides points to insert a
rubber fin that will allow rigid panels to be push fit
into the channel and held in place with friction by the rubber fins.

Rollable Profile

Our in-house capabilities allow us to roll and curve specific profiles. This allows the creation of curved banners, curved partitions for use in offices and open plan spaces, curved lightboxes and exhibition systems.

TFS Corner Connector

Twin Plate Cleat slides into TFS profile channel to join two profiles together at a 45° mitre joint.

UA10775

Simple, strong and discreet. Secures profile joints by means of grub screws.

TFS In-Line Connector

200mm Twin plate cleat slides into TFS profile channel to join two profiles together end to end.

UA12592

Subtle and strong way to join two profiles together, either to make an assembly easier to transport, or to extend the length of a profile. Also available in 100mm length.

Square Extension Bar

100mm long 12mm square extension bar slides into any profile with the Unibox square hollow. Fixes in place with grub screws located into standard profile lock punch holes.

UA14945

Subtle and strong way to join two profiles together, either to make an assembly easier to transport, or to extend the length of a profile.

Knock-Fit Connector

'H' section PVC profile, knocks into profile channel with plastic-faced mallet to join two profiles together side by side. Can be used in varying lengths as required.

UA14015

A subtle way to join two profiles together to create bespoke channel arrangements.
